In April of 2019, I will be going on my first international service trip to Haiti over spring break. "Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest countries in the developing world." With service in my heart, I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to go serve in another country that is in desperate need of help and support. In Haiti, I will be distributing shoes and other items, working at two different orphanages, and giving love to the people there.
In sixth grade, Jeni Olsen, who is taking me to Haiti, sparked my passion for service and helping others. Since eighth grade, I've strongly desired to go on an international service trip and make a difference in another community besides my own and the ones I've made a difference in in other states.
